Agape Christian School is seeking a Principal to manage the overall academic program for the 2025-2026 school year. The principal serves as the educational leader, responsible for managing the policies, regulations, and procedures related to student growth and achievement. This includes providing administrative services, monitoring the educational program, and may include teaching as deemed necessary by the school board. The principal ensures that the academic program and culture of school appropriately reflects the school mission and best practices in education. The principal works closely with the Administrative Team. The principal reports to the Board of Directors.

 

Required Spiritual Qualities:

• Mission, vision, doctrines, and philosophy are in alignment with Agape Christian School

• Ability to articulate a clear and vibrant Christian testimony

• Demonstrates a desire for spiritual growth as evidence by prayer life, Bible study, and spiritual outreach to others

• Be an image bearer of Christ in attitude, speech, and actions both on and off campus

• Maintain active participation in a local body of believers

• Resolve conflict biblically with board, administration, staff, students, parents

• Discipline and counsel staff and students from a biblical perspective

• Possess a commitment to biblical worldview education and the ability to train teachers to integrate biblical truth into all academics

• Encourage staff to actively pursue Christ through devotions and prayer time.

 

Required Professional Qualities:

• Holds, at minimum, a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary or Secondary Education.

• Teaching experience at least 5 years. Administrative experience of some kind preferred.

• High level of computer literacy, having a high proficiency in word processing, spreadsheets, emailing, and Google drive.

• Possess strong organizational, communication, and management skills.

• Be a team player, responsive to the school board and staff.

• Problem Solving and conflict resolution skills.

 

Administrative Responsibilities as it relates to:

School Board

• Carry out the expectations and mandates of the board members as listed below

• Attend monthly board meetings

• Provide reports to the board as requested (enrollment, financial, teacher/student performance)

• Communicate needs, concerns, and desires for ACS and collaborate on a strategic plan

• Give recommendations for hiring of new staff as well as promotion or dismissal of current staff

• Overseeing the school budget

 

Administrative Team

• Schedule calendar of events for the school year

• Assign staff teaching roles and duty times

• Formulate high school weekly class schedule

• Lead weekly meeting for administrative team, prepare agenda

• Schedule and administer weekly staff meetings for departments

• Monitor teacher lesson plans, grade books, and RenWeb activity

• Evaluate staff through unplanned and planned observations. Provide guidance for effective instruction and spiritual growth

• Administer placement tests for incoming students

• Consult with Dean of Students regarding discipline situations of students

• Manage in-house exams (before Christmas break and end of the year) by scheduling, setting up venue, proofreading teacher’s exams

• Prepare of upcoming year

• Ensuring curriculum standards are ment

• Providing professional development opportunities for teachers

• Hiring new staff members

 

Staff

• Communicate and administer all policies, procedures, and directives of the school board

• Plan for teacher orientation before school begins.

• Coordinate professional development opportunities for development and growth

• Ensure that classrooms reflect a professional and Christian environment

• Endeavor to be a resource for staff with any needs

• Supervise work of all staff

• Communicate end of the year expectations in regards to clearing classrooms, submission of curriculum, tests, grade books, and evaluation of past year

 

Students

• Evaluate curriculum and assessment methods for effectiveness

• Write referrals and reference letters

• Conduct end of the year programs (G1-5, G7-11, G6 graduation, G12 graduation)

 

Ministry of Education

• Manage National Exams (GLAT, BJC, BGCSE) – validate receipt of exams, instruct staff on administration of exams, complete special situation forms, set up venue, collect exams on administration day, submission of exams once complete, collection and submission of unused exams

• Participate in monthly Principal’s meetings

 

Public Relations

• Provide with information concerning the activities, policies, and practices of the school

• Develop and maintain a good rapport with parents, students, and leaders in the community

• Participate and support activities of the Parent Teacher Association

 

Evaluation: The ACS board will perform an annual evaluation of the ACS Principal

 

Length of Term: 11 months with time off for school holidays.
